NoFenders.com Is a Proud Supporter of Up and Coming Kart Racer Jamie SkitchJamie Skitch, a 9-year-old Kart racer, got his start in the "Arrive & Drive" rookie program at Cameron Motorsports Karting Complex. After successfully completing the Robert Wickens Diving School in 2006, Jamie really made his mark in his rookie year with 9 firsts, 2 seconds, and 3 third place finishes. Winning first place overall in his weight class, Jamie was awarded "Rookie Of The Year", and offered a scholarship to compete in the 2-stroke 60cc class on the Hamilton Regional Karting Club's 2007 Canadian National Team. Along with this came the invitation to run in the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship for 2007. ![]() Jamie Skitch during Pre-Race Qualifying - Image courtesy Scott Smith/NoFenders.com Jamie has started his 2007 season off with flying colours. In only the first 8 races, he has already shown promise by moving up from 8th to 6th place. In a field of 13 racers most of whom are 2-3 years older, Jamie keeps himself mid-pack by running lap times of 1m .4 seconds, on a 1.5km track. A healthy diet, hard work, and lots of track time, are what will help keep this racer on the top of his game. ![]() Jamie Skitch during Pre-Race Qualifying - Image courtesy Scott Smith/NoFenders.com Jamie does have the chance to run in the 60cc class for another 3 years (9-12 years) which will give him the time to concentrate on, and perfect his skills in the hopes of becoming one of the H.R.K.C. top contenders. For a small, but mighty, 57lbs, Jamie is really thriving in this fast paced world of Kart Racing. ![]() Jamie Skitch and his NoFenders.com Racing Kart - Image courtesy Scott Smith/NoFenders.com |
