Good laptimes in Valencia for the Auto GP teamsThe Auto GP teams had a fruitful day of testing today in Valencia: the first two sessions of this Spanish three-day test saw the cars lapping with no issues at all, covering an impressive mileage and giving the teams the opportunity to complete their respective testing programmes. At the end of the day the quickest lap was posted by Vittorio Ghirelli and Ombra Racing with a 1'22"56, but Facundo Regalia finished really close with the car prepared by home team Campos Racing. The whole test line-up proved very competitive anyway, considering that Daniel de Jong, Giancarlo Serenelli and Sergio Campana all posted times that would have been worth a start on the first two rows of the race that Auto GP held in Valencia last September. Despite the forecasts predicting some rain showers for the afternoon, the sun warmed the track for the whole day, giving the teams more time to try different solutions on their cars. As the only teams with two cars on track, Ombra and Campos Racing made the most of that: the Spanish team, in particular, opted for two completely different programmes for their two cars. The one driven by Regalia went under many set-up changes throughout the day, allowing Facundo to complete around 50 laps, while for Giuseppe Cipriani the aim was to maximize the track time, a choice that allowed the Italian driver to cover an impressive 80 laps. MP Motorsport and MLR71 went on track with just one car: Daniel de Jong took the driving duties for the Dutch team, while the Italian outfit had both Michele La Rosa and Italian F3 champion Sergio Campana behind the wheel, the latter working to validate the team's set-up choices.
