Carlin race for Henry
Single seater race team Carlin will hold a charity run in memory of Henry Surtees this weekend, at the first round of the 2010 British F3 Series at Oulton Park. Carlin's British F3 team will run a lap around the Oulton Park circuit after the final track session of the day on April 3rd in aid of Headway - a charity established to help and support people affected by brain injury. Henry raced with Carlin in the Formula BMW UK championship in 2007 and also a round of the 2008 British F3 Series, when he won in the National Class race on his first attempt at the Donington Circuit. Henry's mechanic from his victorious F3 race has now organised a charity run to raise money for an arts and craft centre at the Headway Tunbridge Wells and District Centre which will be built in Henry's name. Speaking about the event, Daniel Hale said, "Henry was a great person as well as a fantastic racing driver. His victory in the British F3 national Class in 2008 was one of the highlights of my career and I know that for everyone at Carlin who worked with him in F3 and in Formula BMW, this is a great opportunity to show that he is not forgotten. Headway is a great charity and the arts centre built in Henry's name will help countless people in the future." The charity run will take place at Oulton Park on Saturday 3rd April after the final session of the day and is open to all participants. Parties interested in taking part should contact Carlin.
