SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 6, 2009 The talented Dominican driver Daniel Vela will compete in the 2009 Formula BMW Championship with Eurointernational, the winnest Team in FBMW, that has won the last three Formula BMW USA/Americas Championships, as well as the 2008 FBMW World Final.

Vela, the youngest to obtain the Formula BMW scholarship in Valencia, Spain, last October, said: "Euro international has the best record in the Formula BMW series. This will be my first season in open wheel racing and I need to learn a lot from their experience. My goal is to learn as much as I can, so we can work together and get something Eurointernational has never achieved: "The Rookie Championship". I believe that Euro international's experience and my strong determination to win will make a remarkable combination in the coming season."

"Daniel has shown a lot of natural talent since the FBMW Schoolarship selection in Valencia last summer," said Eurointernational owner Antonio Ferrari. "and he has confirmed to be among the fastest rookie drivers during the pre-season private and official tests. With the needed experience, Daniel, can bring home the 2009 FBMW Americas Rookie Cup Title for our team."

Daniel, a second degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and a proficient barefoot water-skier, started racing when he was 10. He has raced in Europe, NACAM, the United States and his native country, the beautiful Dominican Republic. In his Kart racing career, he has competed in more than 70 races, achieving 21 poles, 21 first places, 7 second and 10 third places.

Only in 2008, Daniel raced in 22 races and finished in podium in 12 of them. He qualified or finished top three in all the races that he participated with his team since mid 2007. He was selected by La Filliere, FFSA in 2006 as one of the talents to attend to the karting school. He was a factory driver for CRG and a Dunlop tires test pilot in 2007.

He has started the 2009 season sponsored by the Dominican Republic, Fuel from H20 (Hydrogen Generators) and New Energy Dominicana.
