Addax Team is one of the 10 teams selected by the GP3 organisation to compete this season, thanks to their success in the GP2 class in recent years. In 2008, they won the team championship outright and have always finished in the top three over the last three seasons. The recently created "Ferrari Driver Academy", is a prestigious school for young drivers under the direct supervision of the legendary Formula 1 team. Ferrari's most experienced specialists are actively involved and the chosen ones become the envy of any young driver.

Mirko Bortolotti has already been involved with Addax Team, having taken part in the first official GP3 tests, which took place on the 4th and 5th of March, at the Paul Ricard circuit, Le Castellet in France. This helped the driver and team to get to know each other and the results were so satisfactory, that the team had no doubts in signing him up.

Mirko Bortolotti (Addax Team Driver): "I'm really happy and very grateful for Ferrari's faith in including me in the "Ferrari Driver Academy". I'd also like to thank Addax Team for giving me the opportunity to compete for them in this new GP3 championship. We worked together at the Paul Ricard test and I experienced at first hand the technical, professional and human qualities of the whole team, so I'm convinced we are going to have a good season".

Alejandro Agag (Team Principal Addax Team): "It gives us great satisfaction that "Ferrari Driver Academy" has given us the responsibility of guiding one of the drivers from their prestigious school, which demonstrates the confidence they have placed in us. We won't disappoint them and this agreement could be just the beginning of endless prospective joint ventures between both sides. We got to know Mirko at the recent tests in Paul Ricard and he showed that, despite his tender years, he has all the professional qualities necessary to take advantage of the opportunity he has been given."
