The "Greatest Spectacle in Social Networking" will feature a full day of activities for fans of the IZOD IndyCar Series. The group will meet at the brand new Dallara Factory in Speedway for an exclusive, sold out tour and the opportunity to ride the street legal, two-seater IndyCar. Afterwards, fans will head to Fastimes Indoor Karting for the WIT Grand Prix, where they'll race head-to-head to be crowned go-kart champion. Finally, the night will end with a social gathering at Detour, one of the hottest restaurants in Carmel. There, fans will eat, socialize, and take part in various raffles and prize giveaways.

Winter Indy Tweetup, which originally started as a for the fans, by the fans initiative, has grown to include participation from the Series itself and many of its teams. Drivers like Alex Tagliani, Ed Carpenter, James Hinchcliffe, Pippa Mann and many more have participated in WIT, in activities ranging from karting to live driver interviews. During the inaugural event, fans even got to tour the famed, and top secret, basement of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway museum.

"Giving the fans an awesome experience is our top priority," says Elizabeth Wertz, co-founder of WIT. "When we came up with the concept, we never imagined that the response would be so great. It's become something fans look forward to every year."

WIT's other co-founder Monica Hilton, echoes that sentiment, saying, "It's amazing. Elizabeth and I have been able to combine the power of social media and the fans' passion for the sport to create this unique experience. And while we love celebrating with our WIT regulars, we aim to gain new fans for the sport as well."

The pair want to remind fans that they don't need to be on Twitter or Facebook to attend. The event is open to the public and although the morning event at the Dallara Factory is sold out, all fans are welcome to come out for the karting and social events that afternoon and evening.
