HVM Racing's Dutchman Strous Returns To Long Beach For Some Unfinished Business

Indianapolis, IN - After an 8th place result at last week's Barber Motorsports Park, HVM Racing's Junior Strous travels across the country for Round # 3 of the Indy Lights season for this weekend's Toyota Grand Prix at Long Beach. Strous is looking forward to improving his overall championship standings and to complete some unfinished business. At last year's Long Beach race Strous had an unceremonious premature exit from the race when his car caught fire on the 2nd lap. Strous is determined to seek a different ending to this weekend's story.

Currently sitting solidly in the 8th spot in the Championship standings, Strous and his team are focusing their efforts this weekend on getting the No. 6 Shell/Car Channel Dallara to the front of the grid and to maintain their march towards the championship. Strous has shown steady forward progress this season after salvaging 10th after looking like a safe 2nd place was in the bag, in the season opener at St. Petersburg and then followed that up with an 8th place finish at the Barber Motorsports Park event. Those finishing spots are highlighted by the fact that Strous and the team did not have any pre-season testing.

Junior Strous, Driver No.6 - "I have unfinished business here in Long Beach. I broke my wrist here and my car caught fire last year. I'm confident that we have a competitive car and that we can close the third non-oval event with a good result! It's my favorite track and it's been a dream since my childhood to win races here."

Keith Wiggins, HVM Racing Team Principal - "Every Series is competitive and has experienced and professional teams in it. We are entering as a new team with no testing, so we have work to do, but as with any program, hard work and development will bring results. Long Beach is the next step and I expect us to be better here than at the last".
