Epsilon Batallion Ready To Take On Magny-CoursThe team's six drivers arrive to the French meeting with renewed energies and the common aspiration of claiming a spot among the best Legendary French track of Magny-Cours will host from Friday onwards the fifth meeting of the World Series by Renault season. Meeting that will mark the Championship's equator to which the EPSILON drivers arrive at with recharged energy.
Winner of the two WEC races at Magny-Cours last year, Albert Costa arrives with the mystery of evaluating the result of the treatment he has undergone. Treatment to the flu which, added to the over-exertion he suffered in the Czech Republic two weeks ago, left him practically with no defenses. The young Catalan driver hopes to be able to face this weekend with guarantees although the certainty will only come on Friday for the first free practice session. His team mate at the Formula Renault 3.5, Keisuke Kunimoto overcomes this time the handicap he has been having this season and arrives at a circuit he is already familiar with. Moreover, he does it with the added confidence of having managed his first Championship points at Brno having carried out a great performance. Genís Olivé and Alex Riberas, fourth and fifth in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship standings, already know the track and are to be seriously considered this weekend. Riberas set the fastest time on the first day in the preseason tests hold at the 4,411m circuit and just two weeks ago stepped on the podium at Brno in his sixth single-seaters' race. Fourth taking into account he almost didn't run at Spa. Olivé knows as well how it tastes being on the podium, something he is looking forward to repeat again this weekend. Equally motivated are their team mates Miguel Otegui, second overall at the Magny-Cours preseason test, and Giovanni Venturini, who arrives in high spirits thanks to the set up work done at Brno , even though this isn't among his favorite tracks. Joan Villadelprat - EPSILON President: "Magny-Cours is such a special circuit; demands delicate driving, looking for traction and fast adaptation. You should know it well because it is quite different from the rest. EPSILON faces it with optimism since preseason testing went pretty well here. Riberas was fastest on the first day, having very few experience aboard these cars, and Otegui second overall. Ever since, the car, drivers and team have progressed. This communion is getting better and now we have to put it into lap times and results. At the FR3.5, we hope Albert to be fully recovered from the virus that affected him so much at Brno and be ready to be back into the good form he showed in Monaco, fighting for the podium. Last year Albert won both races here, proving he knows it well and, therefore, our expectations are high. We also expect a lot from Keisuke who finally will race at a track he already knows and hope this will give him confidence to get that extra aggressiveness over qualifying. Overall, sensations are positive. We are just looking forward for the rain not to determine the weekend."
