Epsilon Team Ready For The Hungarian ChallengeAfter having stepped on top of the podium at Magny-Cours, EPSILON EUSKADI believes in continue on the ascending line and hopes for Hungaroring circuit to set a new successful period.
Encouraging weather forecast for the sixth World Series by Renault meeting of the season, kicking off on Friday at Hungaroring circuit, located 28 kilometers away from Budapest. Once crossed the season's equator, EPSILON EUSKADI team arrives in Hungary with the objective of consolidating its position and get back on the podium, both in the Formula Renault 3.5 category and the Eurocup. Achieving this objective would give a great confidence boost ahead of the summer break. Squad leader, Albert Costa, arrives in Hungary with the confirmation of having left behind all the physical setbacks and being able to face, for the first time this season, a weekend 100% fit. Costa already knows what being on the Hungaroring podium means and, having shown great potential in Magny-Cours, he just hopes for the weather not to condition his progression. Hope shared by his team-mate in the Formula Renault 3.5 Keisuke Kunimoto. The Japanese driver hasn't got yet the necessary confidence with the car under wet conditions and, once again, has never driven around this track before. In the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Giovanni Venturini is looking forward to repeat the Magny-Cours success that saw him on the highest podium position after managing the first victory for the EPSILON team this season. It took some time to get it but the team is confident to repeat it in Hungary, with all its team drivers as candidates for the podium. Giovanni Venturini is in an excellent momentum to repeat triumph, having managed a podium last year in Hungary. Likewise did Genís Olivé, who totally dominated both races of the Italian FR 2.0. Miguel Otegui hopes to conduct a positive weekend to leave behind a rather misfortunate period and set an inflexion point for what is left of the season. Slightly more complicated will the challenge be for Alex Riberas, who received a four positions penalty for the first race after following the incident in the second race at Magny-Cours. However, the young driver has already proved he is capable of great accomplishments in his first single-seaters' season. Joan Villadelprat - EPSILON Team Principal: "The team has a lot of expectations for this weekend's meeting. And the forecast of good weather also contributes to be optimistic. The team is on an ascendant progression and it is important to enjoy of three days of stable weather to be able to carry out a good job. Magny-Cours weekend confirmed that Albert is fully recovered now and able to perform at the level he is expected to. Keisuke can have a good weekend as well, provided that conditions remain stable, which would be great for his confidence. With Giovanni's victory in the Eurocup and the positive performance of the cars in France, we also confirmed that the car's set up has improved, which should allow all of them to fight for a good position both during qualifying and race. Means and hunger are there. Now we have to work as much as we can and keep the concentration at the highest to achieve our target."
