Edoardo Mortara (Signature) was victorious in the fifth season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series at the 4.005 kilometres long Circuit Ricardo Tormo near Valencia. The Italian, who had claimed the first-ever pole position in his Euro Series career on the day before, took the lead at the start and drove a safe victory home. Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) scored his best season result to date in second place, Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix) completed the podium. With his second win of the season, Mortara extended his lead in the points' standings.

While Mortara took the lead at the start, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) made a jump start. The Spaniard incurred a drive through penalty and dropped back to eleventh. During the race, he still made it up to ninth place, only just missing out on a point-scoring position. Thus, Roberto Merhi (Mücke Motorsport), who lives only 100 kilometres away from the race track, was the best-placed Spaniard in fourth place. Novice Kevin Magnussen (Motopark Academy) scored two championship points for finishing seventh on his debut in the world's toughest junior race series.

Edoardo Mortara (Signature): "Qualifying was the key to success. This circuit is relatively slow and there are hardly opportunities to overtake. So, when you have a good grid position, a good start and when you make no mistakes, it is difficult for those behind you. In spite of this victory, I don't think about the championship. I only work from race to race. When you finish on the podium as often as possible, the rest comes all by itself."

Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix): "Today, second place was the maximum, because Edoardo made no mistake and didn't give me any opportunity to overtake. We already lost the race in qualifying yesterday. But here, things are already better for us than in the previous two race weekends."

Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix): "Today, I am not as disappointed as yesterday. My speed in the race wasn't bad, but unfortunately, I made a mistake and almost spun."
