Wittmann is in his second season in the Formula 3 Euro Series. One week prior to the presentation, he had a successful start into the new season. At Le Castellet in the south of France, the only permanently entered German in this year's field celebrated two podium finishes. Victories in the two spectacular races at Le Castellet went to Wittmann's team mate Edoardo Mortara (Signature) from Italy and to British driver Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix). In total, drivers from nine countries participated in the season-opening races. Among them was a driver from Colombia for the very first time, Carlos Muņoz (Mücke Motorsport).
Next to Wittmann, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) and António Félix da Costa (Motopark Academy) were also due to take part in the presentation, they were meant to complete some demonstration laps. However, the two Iberians had to cancel their appearance in Wiesbaden because of the current difficulties in European air traffic. Next weekend, the young drivers in the Formula 3 Euro Series will be contesting their third and fourth season rounds at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.
Marco Wittmann (Signature): "It is nice for me to be allowed to represent the Formula 3 Euro Series, one of the world's strongest junior race categories, here in Wiesbaden. Drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel or Nico Rosberg have all honed their skills in the Formula 3 Euro Series and are now competing for good results in Formula 1. This season, I will do my very best and I hope to be able to follow in the footsteps of Hamilton, Rosberg or Vettel one day."
