Good Qualifying For Alberto Valerio At Silverstone

There's good news for Scuderia Coloni in Silverstone. Alberto Valerio posted the 9th fastest time in the GP2 Qualifying, stopping the clock on 1'39"811, less than half of a second adrift from front row. The brazilian driver confirmed the competitiveness that he showed also in Free Practice, when he went very close to clinching the fastest time: his performance was only hampered by a mistake in the last section of the track, but in the first and second sector Alberto had the best times.

Even closing qualifying 9th Valerio tomorrow will start from 9th row, due to a 10 position penalty he has to serve for being involved in the Valencia Race 2 accident. Anyway the pace he showed boosts the team's hopes for a strong recovery in the race.

If Valerio's qualifying was good, Vladir Arabadzhiev had a more difficult one and closed the session 23rd with 1'41"654. The Bulgarian driver is at his first time on the Silverstone track and this is a obviously a big disadvantage on such a technical and fast circuit. Anyway Vladimir will try to make up some places, also trying to make the most of the pit-stop strategy.

Alberto Valerio: "I'm happy with the work we've done today, we gave our best even knowing that I was going to lose 10 positions for the race of tomorrow. I'm also happy for my pace because we are just 0.1 adrift from P5 and I have the bist first sector overall. So I hope that I will be able to score points tomorrow, even starting from P19".

Vladimir Arabadzhiev: "It was my GP2 worst qualification and I think that the reason is that we made some mistakes. I didn't manage to put together an ideal lap, that summing up my best sectors would have been 0.8 faster. Anyway we'll keep working and I hope for a good race tomorrow".
