Scuderia Coloni Gathers Useful Infos In Silverstone

The GP2 weekend on the modified Silverstone circuit was really fruitful for Scuderia Coloni. The italian team left for England knowing that, due to a ten position penalty given to Alberto Valerio after race 2 in Valencia, the british weekend was going to be a very difficult one, and that's why gathering useful informations for the next round was the prioritary aim, more than performance. Despite this, the team's performance was really good: in qualifying Valerio clinhed 9th position, posting some split-time in Sector 1 and Sector 2 that would have been good for the front row. Then, he confirmed this competitiveness in Race 1, recovering from P19 to 14th place. He was ready to do the same in Race 2, but a puncture meant the end of his chances.

Also Vladimir Arabadzhiev can be happy of his weekend: the Bulgarian driver was at his debut race on the Silverstone circuit, and he worked hard with the team in order to find the right set-up. He managed to do that because he improved a lot in the second race, clinching 17th place.

Paolo Coloni: "We knew right from the start of the weekend that starting from behind was going to make things very difficult for Valerio, but his performance throughout the whole weekend gives us a lot of confidence for the next events. We are very satisfied about Arabadzhiev's improvement during the weekend: The team now knows exactly what kind of car he needs to be quick and you can see that from the results: in Race 2 he was so at ease with it that he posted his fastest lap at the end of the race!".
