The fifth round of the 2010 GP2 Main Series got underway today at Silverstone. The historic British track has been heavily revamped and upgraded, providing a new challenge for all the teams and drivers, facing a new circuit in several key points.

The Qualifying session, setting the starting grid for Race 1, was ended by Johnny Cecotto in 18th. The Venezuelan driver will have to move back and, after the stewards decided to penalize him 10 spots in Valencia, he'll be lining-up last.

Adrian Zaugg ended his qualifying session in 19th after suffering from traffic issues. The South African driver and his team-mate will take off for 29-lap long Race 1 at 14:40 local time (CET-1), while the weekend will come to a close on Sunday, at 9:35 (CET-1), for the 21-lap long Race 2. Live coverage will be provided in Italy by RaiSport Sat.

Johnny Cecotto Jr. "The track here at Silverstone was in most parts new to everybody, while indeed I didn't know any of the corners, including the one left untouched by the revamp. For this reason, I was hoping to get a good feel since practice, but things went the wrong way, as after hitting a kerb, I damaged the steering brace of my car. The issue forced me to turn only a few laps, and I started Qualifying without many reference points, also from a set-up perspective. I knew I would have lost 10 spots, so starting from the back is not a surprise."

Adrian Zaugg. "I was expecting a much better result, as, in the end, my best laptime has been the one set with the first set of new tires. During the first run everything seemed fine, but when I put new tires on again, I couldn't just take advantage of them due to traffic. In my first flyer I found a slower car up front in the first split, and then, on the following lap, I found another one in the closing sector."

* 10-spot penalty. Cecotto will be taking off from the 24th place.
