Graham Rahal, No. 02 Quick Trim Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "We don't have enough to put the car up front in qualifying. We can't maximize new tires. We put them on and didn't go quicker. It's frustrating. We'll see how the car is in race trim in the morning warmup. We're dancing around a bigger issue and I'm not sure what it is. I can't push the car any harder and go quicker and, unfortunately in race trim, that's a very important thing. We will keep working hard to figure it out."

Hideki Mutoh, No. 06 Formula Dream/Panasonic Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "We are struggling with the car under braking. It is very easy to upset the car on the bumps. We flat-spotted a tire early in the qualifying session so that didn't help me at all. Graham and I both are missing something and we need to find out what it is. The race car is always different so it will be better but today it wasn't good for qualifying. Since we are starting in the back we can gamble on the strategy and move to the front if it works out for us."
